She has been trained in vinyasa, meditation, pranayama, tantric philosophy, and alignment based practices.  Her classes will leave you feeling open, strong, rejuvenated, and tension free.

    Kathleen Roskos started practicing Yoga in 2001 and having had a great experience instantly fell in love with yoga. She has been in teacher trainings since her first Immersion in 2003 in NYC then onto many workshops all over the country. She is influenced in Anusara Yoga and did her Level 1 teacher training in Utah and Level 2 in Boston. Constantly learning and refining, she is grateful for all her teachers! The class she teaches is Alignment based Hatha with a Heart Opening Theme, bringing students to a deeper mind, body, spirit connection.

  • Tom Dunphy
    Tom DunphyYoga Teacher

    Tom Dunphy received his RYT-200 Yoga teacher certification in 2013 at Dancing Foot Yoga in Red Bank and continued his yoga training at Yoga Anjali in Belmar, where he currently teaches.

    He has recently retired after twenty –five years of service as a teacher of special needs students for the Monmouth County Vocational School District and now has more time for his passions.

    He has been an avid surfer his entire life and now spends more time surfing with his children. Being a part of the ocean and it’s beauty has inspired him to write inspirational poems. The beautiful scenes depicted in his photographs are a testament to the ocean’s endless wonder and beauty.  Tom has bundled these passions and brings them with him as he enjoys sharing his yoga with his students and colleagues.

    Tom is a resident of West Long Branch where he resides with his wife, Kathleen and enjoys spending time with his daughter, Kelly and son, Thomas. He insists that they are certainly the best work he has produced in his life.

    • Chuck Blair
      Chuck BlairYoga Teacher

      Chuck began practicing yoga in August of 2005 at the suggestion of a friend. As his practice progressed and grew to include meditation and pranyama he found awareness, peace and contentment that has changed his life. His greatest desire is to honor his teachers by sharing what he has experienced with others through teaching.
      Chuck took his first yoga teacher training at Blue Moon Yoga in 2007 and began teaching soon thereafter. In August of 2009, he took a twelve day teacher training with Dharma Mittra at the Omega Institute. He completed his Anusara Teacher Training with Carmel Calcagno and Dina Crosta in February 2012. He teaches an Anusara inspired Hatha Yoga with alignment.

      Chuck felt an affinity for the sweet teachings of Tantric scholar Dr. Douglas Brooks the first time he studied with him. He has studied frequently with Douglas and traveled with him to Tamil Nadu in southern India in December 2012. His experiences in India were amazing and will be working on him for a long time to come.

      Chuck is trained in Yoga Nidra and leads sessions locally.

      • Talena Ward
        Talena WardYoga Teacher

        Talena first started yoga 1998 to improve body awareness while attending the dance program at Montclair State University. Seven years ago she was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, Rheumatoid arthritis and Lupus, and has found that a strict diet and daily yoga have been vital to her health and well-being.

        To deepen her practice Talena earned her 200 hour yoga teacher certification at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in 2011, soon after followed by a certification in Let Your Yoga Dance® and Restorative yoga.

        She has since pioneered the Yoga for the Equestrian program and Yoga for Golfers at the Monmouth County Park System, as well as taught private and group classes at local yoga studios and festivals like the Where Womyn Gather Fest in Pennsylvania.

        Talena teaches yoga with a deep connection between the body and mind through breath, while listing to her body for further self- discovery. She strives to inspire others with similar obstacles, she also turns those same life obstacles into learning experiences that she teaches to all of her students.

        As soon as she came into her first Down Dog and felt both the challenge and the freedom in it, she knew that this was something she wanted to experience again. Six years later Dina has seen her life moved in so many ways by her connection to practicing yoga – the most profound being the ever-widening circle of friends, teachers and students and the ever-deepening connection to herself. She is forever grateful to all of her teachers both through yoga and throughout her life. Dina aspires to inspire in others all that yoga has graciously given to her.

        Karen Trotzinka, CYT, RYT, began her yoga journey over 10 years ago, after a long illness, as a way to move toward physical fitness again. She discovered the amazing ability of yoga to connect the mind, body and spirit and to heal the individual on multiple levels. She completed her first teacher training program with Sri Dharma Mittra in New York, where, she also taught.

        Karen took her first Anusara class shortly after her son was born and found a true love in this style and the teachers she has met. It is a challenging style that is accessible to everyone. Her aim to creatively inspire and empower all her students and she believes every day is an opportunity to play and celebrate the joy of life. She also holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is prenatal certified.

          • Carmel Calcagno
            Carmel CalcagnoStudio Founder & Yoga Teacher

            Carmel Calcagno began her practice in 1989 after a book fell on her head in a local bookstore. She bought the book, “Initiation” and while reading it she looked up Yoga in her phone book, that alone will tell you how long ago that was. She signed up for her first session and has been studying ever since. Yoga did not come easy for her, but she knew after her first class that yoga would play an important role in her life. She began teaching in 1996 after practicing for 7 years and in 1999 she began studying with John Friend, founder of Anusara Yoga. Carmel was certified by John in 2003.
            She opened Yoga Anjali the first time at 905 Main Street in Belmar, in March of 2003. For a time the studio moved to Neptune. Carmel is thrilled to be back on Main Street in her new studio at 911.

            Carmel is also a student of Paul Mueller-Ortega since 2008. Through Paul she has discovered her love for the practices of Tantric Saivism and the study of the Shiva Sutras.
